What is matcha?
Matcha is a finely ground green tea powder made from tea leaves. Unlike regular tea, matcha is not steeped, but rather stirred into water – and thus the entire tea leaf is consumed.
Active substances and effects
Matcha contains caffeine, but thanks to the amino acid L-theanine, caffeine is released gradually - alertness without nervousness and without an “energy crash” after the effect wears off.
L-theanine supports alpha-waves in the brain - a feeling of calm concentration, often described as “relaxed energy”.
Matcha is rich in catechins (especially EGCG) – powerful antioxidants that help protect cells from oxidative stress.
It has a high chlorophyll content because the leaves grow in the shade – it helps neutralize free radicals and supports antioxidant processes.
Properties
Moya Matcha Traditional is a high-quality green tea from Japan.
It is obtained from the 1st and 2nd harvests of tea plants that are specially shaded from direct sunlight. The result is a higher content of chlorophyll and L-theanine and a richer, greener colour. The fresh leaves are then harvested, dried, and ground into powder. Moya Matcha Traditional has a rich bittersweet flavour and a creamy texture.
